Day 1: Arrival and Relax 

 

Upon your arrival in Buenos Aires, we’ll arrange for transportation to pick you up either in the morning or afternoon and take you to the hotel for some rest and a group meeting. I’ll organize a group dinner for this evening, or if you prefer, you can take some time to relax or explore the city if you’re up for it.

Day 2: Buenos Aires City Tour and Exploration Day (B)

 

We’ll embark on a tour of Buenos Aires, immersing ourselves in its vibrant contrasts and local culture. Our journey will commence from the historical center. No visit to Buenos Aires is complete without experiencing Plaza de Mayo, the city’s foundational site and witness to its tumultuous political history. Around the plaza, we’ll marvel at the Pink House, our Presidential Palace, the historic Cabildo, and the elegant Metropolitan Cathedral with its Neoclassical architecture. Continuing our exploration, we’ll make our way towards Puerto Madero. Once a bustling dockside area, it has since undergone a remarkable transformation into a modernized district. Its former redbrick warehouses now house trendy restaurants, lively pubs, and sleek corporate offices.

Day 3: Transfer to El Chalten (B)

 

We will transfer you to the Buenos Aires domestic airport to board your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival, you will be transferred by private vehicle from El Calafate to El Chalten, accompanied by a private English-speaking guide. We anticipate arriving in the afternoon, allowing you the opportunity to enjoy a short guided hike to destinations such as the Eagles & Condors viewpoint, the Piedras Blancas trek, or a visit to Casa Museo Madsen.

El Chalten, nestled in the Patagonian region of Argentina, is a charming and picturesque town known as the “Trekking Capital of Argentina.” Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, including towering mountains, glaciers, and pristine lakes, it attracts outdoor enthusiasts from around the world. The town offers a relaxed atmosphere with cozy lodges, quaint cafes, and small shops catering to hikers and adventurers.

Day 4: Full day Trek Laguna Los Tres (B, L, D)

 

Meet your local guide and transfer to the Rio Eléctrico bridge, where the trail to Laguna Capri begins. After a 2-hour trek, enjoy views of the Piedras Blancas glacier and lagoon. Continue to Laguna Capri, then trek to Laguna de los Tres, offering challenging terrain and stunning vistas. Overnight at Campamento Base Poincenot.

– Heigh gain: 700 metters
– Technical difficulty: beginners
– Difficulty: moderate/high
– Departure : 7.30 ú 8 hs (to be reconfirmed the day before)

 

Day 5: Half- day Trek Laguna Los Tres (B, L,)

 

From Poincenot camp, you can capture excellent panoramic photos of Fitz Roy in the early morning light. After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey to Laguna Torre, passing by the Lagunas Madre and Hija (Mother and Daughter Lakes). The walk to Laguna Torre takes about 3 hours, and our plan is to have lunch there before returning to El Chaltén via the Laguna Torre trail and Torre viewpoint. This trek typically takes 6-8 hours and involves an elevation gain of approximately 400-600m, making it easier than day 1. We will transfer in the evening back to El Calafate. (This drive takes around 2.5 hours)

 

Please note that in March, sunrise occurs around 07:30 am.

El Calafate is a charming town located in Argentine Patagonia, renowned for its stunning natural surroundings and proximity to the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier. It serves as a gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and is characterized by its picturesque landscapes, including vast icy expanses, turquoise lakes, and rugged mountain ranges. Day 6:  El Calafate Glacier Trekking (B, L)

 

Minitrekking: Departing from your hotel, we’ll head to the majestic glacier. Experienced guides will provide detailed insights along the way. After a captivating journey across Lago Rico, we’ll hike along the picturesque shoreline before equipping crampons for a glacier hike. Exploring fascinating formations, we’ll return to the refuge via a footbridge through the Patagonian Andean forest. The adventure continues with a guided visit to the footbridges, offering breathtaking views of the natural environment.

Day 7: El Calafate- Ushuaia (B)

 

At appointed time, we will transfer to El Calafate aiport to board your flight to Ushuaia. In the afternoon, depart from the local port to visit Alicia Island, home to a colony of fur seals, and Isla de los Pájaros, where royal and imperial cormorants nest. Pass by the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and observe two-haired sea lions on another nearby island. Disembark at Bridges Island to enjoy panoramic views of Ushuaia and explore a trail showcasing local flora and avifauna, including the largest Yamana shells in the region. Return to the port to conclude the excursion.

Southernmost city in the world, located in Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego. Known for its stunning landscapes, including mountains and the Beagle Channel. Base for exploring national parks and expeditions to Antarctica. Popular for outdoor activities and wildlife viewing.

Day 8: Ushuaia National Park and Trekking and Canoe (B, L)

 

After traveling 10 km from Ushuaia to Tierra del Fuego National Park, we’ll embark on a comprehensive tour of its main attractions. Beginning with an 8 km hike along the Coastal Path, we’ll enjoy nature’s beauty. Lunch will be served near Lapataia River’s shore inside a heated dome with panoramic views. Then, equipped for adventure, we’ll canoe for approximately one hour on Lake Acigami, exploring the Lapataia and Ovando Rivers until reaching Lapataia Bay where Route 3 (the Panamerican Highway) ends. Concluding at Lapataia Bay, we’ll return to your hotel or any central location upon request.

 

Duration: 9 hours approximately.

Day 9: Ushuaia- Buenos Aires (B)

 

At the agreed time, private transfer to Ushuaia Airport to board your flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival at local domestic airport and connecting transfer to Holiday Inn Ezeiza hotel.
